Personalising the Funeral Service...for making the service special

A funeral service should capture and reflect the life lived by a person. To do this, Sylvan Funerals offers a number of memorial ideas which you may like to consider.

Photo Slideshow Presentations

Often following the eulogy, presenting a montage of photographs of a person’s life helps sum up and reflect the words which had been spoken throughout the eulogy. Many families are able to create a photo slideshow themself using standard slideshow computer software. Alternatively, a our staff are able to assist with production of a photo slideshow using a professional level software package.

Orders of Service

An order of service booklet generally contain the service order, photographs, hymn words, readings, etc. Although orders of service are not required, some families see the booklet as a keepsake to give to those who attend. The task of printing these yourself is a very time consuming task unless if you do not have the appropriate equipment. At Sylvan Funerals, we offer a design and print service for orders or service booklets, along with other printed media. Please contact us on (07) 3812 4000 to discuss your requirements with a consultant.

Funeral Service Filming

There are many factors which may prevent family members and friends from attending the funeral on the day. For this reason we can offer the option of filming the funeral service which provides an opportunity for those unable to attend the service to experience the sharing of memories and say farewell. As a guide, funeral filming packages begin at approximately $450.

Thank You Bookmarks

Complimentary to all the families we serve, we offer printed Thank You bookmarks which are personalised with the name and photo of their loved one. These bookmarks are given to every person who attends the service.

Releasing of White Doves or Balloons

The releasing of white doves is traditionally seen as a symbol of a person’s soul being carried to heaven. As the doves fly away, the sense of letting a person go and knowing they have entered into a place of peacefulness. Likewise, releasing of balloons symbolises similar feelings. Should you wish to use white doves or balloons in a funeral service, contact us and we will organise this for you.
